HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Florida was discovered in 1513 by Juan Ponce de Leon who appropriated the land for Spain. The oldest settlement of European origin in the United States was ST. Austine, founded in 1565 on the northeast coast.
The Spanish colony, La Florida, ceded to the United States in 1819 as part of the Adams-Onis Treaty.
It has been a state of the country since 1845.
A lot has happened since then.

Breweries, Wineries and Distilleries in Florida. In Florida there is not only sun, beach and the
ocean, but also interesting drinks.

Sparacia Witherell Family Winery & Vineyards.

Beer may not have as long a history in Florida as wine, but breweries large and small can be
found across the state today, creating the right after-work drink for every palate. One of the
oldest breweries in Pensacola is McGuire’s Irish Pub. Near Jacksonville, Pinglehead Brewing
Company, in Wesley Chapel the Florida Ave Brewing Company. If a visit to a brewery is not
enough for you, you can embark on a happy route on the “Daytona Beach Ale Trail” and
experience the entire spectrum of grain juice enjoyment, from extraordinary craft beer
creations to classic beers. The trail includes nearly two dozen unique local breweries, pubs and
distilleries.
The Sugar Sand Distillery, which only opened in 2018, is located in the middle of a 4-hectare
sugar cane plantation and is a true farm-to-bottle operation. Today, whiskey, vodka, gin and
moonshine are produced here.

For a long time, Palm Beach was primarily considered the home of very wealthy moneyed
“nobility”. But in recent years, a younger and more modern audience has been discovering the
Island for themselves.
Palm Beach has been synonymous with wealth and exclusivity and a lifestyle more rooted in
traditional traditions and values. In 2022, according to the Palm Beach Daily News and business
magazine Forbes, no fewer than 54 billionaires had frequent residences in the 9,000-person town.
According to Travel + Leisure, however, this image has been changing significantly for some time.
Asd the travel magazine explains, the once sleepy coastal village experienced a huge boom
following the devastating global flu pandemic of 1918 and developed into “America’s Riviera” and
a “Gilded Age playground for the wealthy”. Significant contributions were made by eccentric
architect Addision Mizner with his magnificent buildings in the Mediterranean and Spanish
Colonial Revival styles, as well as the railway and industrial magnate Henry Flagler, who had his
winter residence “Whitehall” built here in addition to luxurious hotels.
Recently, however, there have also been an increasing number of younger newcomers from urban
areas such as New York and Los Angeles – a trend that was further intensified by the corona
pandemic, as the desire for more distance from people and associated tendency to work from
home is increasing Sunshine State Florida is turning into an alternative quarter for many.
Sophisticated, urban New Palm Beachers have been followed by responsive restaurants, hotels,
shops and art galleries, modernizing the city’s image in various ways without sacrificing its “retro
glamor”.
FLORIDA REAL ESTATE MARKET: RETURN OF INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
As a result of the Corona crisis and the resulting ban on entry, the number of residential real
estate sales in the USA to foreigners has fallen sharply in the past two years. Since the entry
restrictions were largely abolished, it has been increasing rapidly again. Properties in the Sunshine
State are once again the most popular.
PALM BEACH COUNTY: NOT ONLY DESIRED BY BILLIONAIRES
Palm Beach County, with its combination of an ambience that for many seems like paradise and
low tax rates, the county has an influx of very wealthy citizens, but also companies from various
industries.
In view of the lack of a personal income tax, it is not surprising that many well-off people are
settling in Florida. West Palm Beach and Boca Raton, for example, are specifically approaching
financial services and technology companies to make moving to Palm Beach County attractive.
West Palm Beach offers financial incentives to companies moving to the City, the extent of which
depends on how many new jobs they generate. This includes an accelerated examination of
construction projects and the granting of building permits as well as tax exemptions.
A major plus for Palm Beach County is its infrastructure in terms of transportation: Palm Beach
International Airport, regional airport in Boca Raton, and the northernmost tip of Jupiter County
is just 90 min drive from Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports. Brightline rail line, which connects
West Palm Beach with Miami and is to be extended to Orlando and Tampa. Service from West
Palm Beach to Orlando is in service as of Sept. 2023. The route to Tampa is operated by Amtrak. Services depart once daily. The journey takes approximately 3H 56m.
Clearly, Palm Beach County as a business location is providing convincing arguments time and
time again.
